Frequently Asked Questions
Clinic
Clinic sessions will be one hour in duration and held in a ballroom at the Westin Times Square. This includes 15 minutes for seating adjustments and warm-ups, and 45 minutes with your clinician. Please bring two sets of original full scores to your clinic session to be shared with adjudicators for reference during your performance. These scores will be returned to you prior to your departure from the hall. If your repertoire requires a piano, there will be an electric keyboard available for the clinic session. At Carnegie Hall, there will be a full grand piano available.
Carnegie Hall Stage Protocol
Carnegie Hall is a union hall, meaning the stage hands must set the chairs and stands for your ensemble. We ask you to complete a detailed stage plot of your ensemble that will be given to the Carnegie Hall stagehands on performance day.
Tickets to Carnegie Hall Performance
Tickets will go on sale approximately 60 days prior to the performance and are sold directly through the Carnegie Hall Box Office. All registered Non-Performers have a ticket included in their package. Before tickets go on-sale, an email will be sent to you with a discount code that you can share with any friends and family.
Archival Recording
There will be an archival video recording made of the performance, which is included in your package. It will be sent to you digitally about three or four weeks after the concert. You are welcome to distribute this archival recording to friends and families free of charge. The recording cannot be used for commercial purposes in any way or posted publicly. The performance will not be live-streamed.
Performance Session
All ensembles will observe the other participating ensembles from the audience when they are not performing and are expected to be present for the duration of their session. Each ensemble will be assigned to a designated holding room to store instruments and warm-up for 20 minutes prior to their performance.
Adjudicator Comments
Guest clinicians will provide written and/or recorded verbal comments for your ensemble. Written comments will be distributed immediately following the performance session and recorded comments will be shared with director’s post-residency via email.
