Manhattan Concert Productions presents Kirke Mechem's stirring and evocative Songs of the Slave performed by the Masterwork Festival Chorus, the New York City Chamber Orchestra, and prominent vocal soloists conducted by Eliza Rubenstein. The National Festival Chorus performs an array of powerful and moving choral works, including Orff’s O Fortuna, Whitacre’s Little Man in a Hurry and Ray’s He Never Failed Me Yet, led by guest conductor Dr. Gary Walth. The concert also includes a featured performance by Canticum Novum, conducted by Jeffrey Cobb.
