Jacob taught high school vocal music in Sioux Falls, SD for five years before moving to New York. He is passionate about the value of ensemble travel and the ways that students are changed by experiences outside the classroom. In addition to his perspective as an educator, he also brings experiences in arts management from his work with the Music Organizations Office at St. Olaf College, where he served as assistant for marketing and touring before starting his teaching journey in 2020.

Jacob is an avid musical theatre fan and does his best to see as many musicals around the city as possible. His favorite composers for the theatre are Stephen Sondheim and Leonard Bernstein.
