National Festival Chorus featuring the professional Manhattan Concert Chorale

Simon Carrington, Guest Conductor

Featuring the National Festival Chorus, the professional Manhattan Concert Chorale and selected ensembles from the National Band & Orchestra Festival in Chicago.

Join Manhattan Concert Productions when they return to Orchestra Hall to present the National Festival Chorus.  Featuring an exclusively English choral music program, with timeless classics including Bob Chilcott’s Aesops Fables and Samuel Wesley’s Blessed be the God and Father, all under esteemed conductor Simon Carrington – the creative force behind the internationally acclaimed British vocal ensemble The King’s Singers, which he co-founded at Cambridge University in the UK.

Following a sold out performance at Lincoln Center, New York City in December, the professional Manhattan Concert Chorale will perform their inaugural concert in Chicago.  They will present a wonderful program of handpicked works for this performance, Vaughan Williams’ Easter from Five Mystical Songs and Serenade to Music, as well as Manhattan Concert Chorale’s Composer in Residence, Ola Gjeilo’s Ubi Caritas II: Through Infinite Ages and an arrangement of the spiritual Ezekiel Saw the Wheel.

The concert will also feature selected ensembles from the National Band & Orchestra Festival which will be held in Chicago in March.
